Sorry for not updating this blog for a really long time.
I have been up to many adventures, honestly, but I've been so busy with my Instagram, I just neglected this blog. I have been to many cafes, cooked many dishes, I wonder what I should start with now. Maybe I should start with Eggslut. 🤩
Firstly, it was my first experience at Eggslut. Haha. I had been so excited to go, seeing as how they were a much-raved about brand from the US. and dang, their sandwiches did look and sound good.
I was thrift-shopping around Orchard Road, and was looking for something to eat for dinner when I spotted their quintessential and iconic shopfront, at Scotts Square. I had time, I had money, I HAD to go in and sample this famous restaurant for myself.
I agonised about what to order. I was so tempted to get the signature dish - Slut. But what I really wanted was a burger with a generous heaping of egg. I got that by ordering the Fairfax, which turned out to be exactly what I wanted.
It was a burger, with the most crispy on the outside and soft on the inside buns, and a huge amount of scrambled egg (my fave way of eating eggs) and just the most tasty melted cheese that complemented the egg perfectly. It was heaven in a bun.
Honestly, their collection procedure was a bit confusing though and their service left quite a bit to be desired.
After taking my order of both drink and food, the cashier gave me a buzzer, which started buzzing incessantly 2 mins after I collected it.
I went to the counter and was informed that my drink was not ready yet so I still had to wait.
Through it all my buzzer was still buzzing and I was mighty disturbed by it, while also being embarrassed that my neighbours might get annoyed too.
When my drink finally came (I also had to eye the counter this whole time), I returned the buzzer and went back too my seat.
After finishing my food, I was confused as to the procedure, and left my tray on the table, as I had seen another patron do. The wait staff came by and told me that I had to clear my tray, much to my confusion and annoyance.
Overall, not a great experience.
Since then though, I have been back at least 2 more times, and I'm happy to report that the ordering and returning experience has been a lot smoother. Maybe because I no longer order a drink with my food.
Anyways, food 11/10, service 3/10, price 5/10. Would return just for the food, tbh.
