Well, I have cooked steak enough times. Probably even 10 times, considering the infrequent occurrence that I cook.

It has become my signature dish, my Roman Empire, the dish I cook most often. Apart from pasta. And maybe avocado toast 😛

Today, as I had red wine vinegarette in the fridge, leftover from a previous steak cooking expedition 😜, I decided to make red wine sauce steak instead of my usual Gordon Ramsey butter garlic style steak.

Recipe

Ingredients:

Main

150g of steak meat

4-5 cheesy hotdogs

1/2 cups edmame

Sauce

1/3 stick of butter (or as much as you like) 👍

1 clove garlic - smashed and peeled

1 tbsp balsamic vinegar

1/2 cup red wine vinegar

Rosemary

Others

Prep the edamame in a bowl

Pour boiling water over them

Leave them soaking the the boiling water for 2-3 mins

Grill the hotdogs

Directions:

1. Thaw steak for at least 20 mins

2. Coat the steak with salt on both sides

3. Prep your sauce first. Melt butter in frying pan.

4. Add rosemary herbs and smashed garlic. Option to add shallots. Add the balsamic vinegar. Add the red wine vinegar. Taste to test. Add water if needed.

5. Pour the sauce into a separate bowl when done or when shallots are nicely browned.

6. Cook the steak in the same pan. You may chose to cook the steak as one piece of meat but I opted to cut it into slices, as it will be easier to cook and absorb more of the sauce that way.

7. Add the sauce to the pan.

8. Cook the steak to your desired done-ness, and taste test the sauce as well.

9. When cooked, remove the steak.

10. Plate your dish, with sausages and edamame, and steak.

11. Pour your sauce over the steak and serve.

I had the sauce in a separate bowl as I didn't want to wet the edamame and sausage with the sauce. Maybe I should have taken some pictures of the beef with the sauce 🥲

It turned out to be an amazing dish. The beef was tender and not too cooked, and absorbed the sauce really well. The sauce was almost the best part, extremely tasty and rich.

My mom had two slices and couldn't stop raving about it.

Till next time!! 😇😉
