Saw this recipe on Pinterest and decided to give it a try. It was actually a very old pin saved by me some time back, but given my new interest in Korean food lately, and my recent purchase of a CJ Beksul Spicy Sauce for Braised Chicken (not an ad) from a Korean supermarket, i thought it apt to try.

Recipe

Ingredients:

500g of chicken breast

1 egg

1/2 cup corn flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon white pepper

Prep

Cut chicken into bite-sized chunks

Heat up the oil in the pan

Directions:

1. Cut chicken into bite-sized chunks

2. Add egg to the raw chicken and coat chicken with egg

3. In another bowl, mix the dry ingredients of flour, salt and white pepper

4. Transfer the chicken to the flour mixture and coat evenly

5. Add coated chicken into boiling oil to deep fry it

6. Deep fry chicken for about 6 minutes

7. Take out fried chicken and marinate it evenly in CJ Beksul Spicy Sauce for Braised Chicken

8. Cook rice

9. Place marinated fried chicken on rice

10. Add sesame seed and green onion

11. Serve and enjoy! :)

I also used the leftover egg from coating the chicken to make a scrambled/fried egg side dish. That inspired me to create Korean steamed egg next time. But it seems difficult. Next time then!

Remember I promised to give a review of the products once I started using them? Well, here it is! :)

First, starting with the Evans Diamond Tomato, I had hoped that it would clear my acne and give me dewy, bouncy, skin. Well, my skin was more moisturised after using it, but extremely sadly, unlike its mask, it did not clear my acne, or even alleviate it. My skin appeared just as red and bumpy as ever. Probably with a tiny bit of difference. But like mentioned, I did notice that my skin was more moisturised and ever so slightly bouncier after using it.

I do love the spritz though. Spritz spritz spritz, three times on my forehead, and each on my cheeks, then spreading it all over my face. Gives that light-weight serum feeling which I love.

Recently, my skin care routine has developed, and it has become a self-care of sorts to me. And this toner is only the beginning. More on that another time ;)

But if only it was as dermalogically-effective as it is fun to use :'(

Anyway, moving on to the second, Eau Thermale Avene MAT toner, well, this has been a staple in my cupboard since a year ago. I love the matte texture it gives, hence the name MAT ;) geddit? geddit? hehe I'm pretty sure they didn't name it after my feeling LOL. but still. Anyway, it also refreshes my face and gives it the much needed moisture after a deep cleansing. And furthermore, it acts as a great primer for me to layer my skincare on top.

Nothing but praises for this must-have staple.

Finally, on to the last, Eau Thermale Avene B-Protect Sunscreen, this product was disappointing to say the least.

Maybe I had too high expectations.

I was looking for a sunscreen that was non-comedogenic, anti-pollution, and protects from sun pollution. I thought I had found it in Eau Thermale Avene. But somehow, the protection from UVB-UVA rays that this sunscreen totes is just not enough for me.

Still on my search for the holy grail then.

Also, I'm used to Japanese sunscreens which leaves a very watery, dewy finish, and does not leave a residue on your skin. However this sunscreen is a bit too much like bb cream for my taste, and is too thick, leaving a tinted residue on the face, and a beige residue when wiped with a tissue. That, I don't like.

Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with the quality of the products (Watson always delivers), but its effects on my skin could be better.

And that's all for today! Catch you next time! :) ;)

Watsons recently had a sale, with one-for-one off La Roche Posay and Eau Thermale Avene products, and also 2 for 25% of other selected products.

I was meanwhile looking for a toner and moisturiser as mine were both running out.

Hence, I went on a 4-day expedition to slowly research and find the best products that were both value-for-money and best suited my needs.

I managed to snag a cheaper price for my Watsons products by buying them online instead of over-the-counter.

Remember my previous review about Evan Diamond Tomato? Well I'm so smitten with their masks that I decided to try out their toner to give me that no-acne, healthy skin glow that K-stars have and one that I have been hankering after.

Have not used any of these now so I will give another review when I do.

Eau Thermale Avene MAT toner was one that I had been using, also recommended by that kind Guardian promoter. See a trend here? I do. It has been great for my acne skin, not really clearing up my acne, but also not adding acne, and giving me the moisture I needed.

The sunscreen was something I had my eye on. AND managed to get buy 1 get 1 free this sale! YAYERS. It has SPF, and protects against UVA and UVB rays, which is great because I had been looking for something anti-pollution and also non-comedogenic which of course Eau Thermale Avene does very well.

Overall, a great and happy haul :)
